Klingon Bird of Prey

The Klingon Bird of Prey is a fictional interstellar Spaceship made popular by the Television Series "Star Trek"
and is the nemesis to the Starship Enterprise. The design for the Klingon Bird of Prey is TOP SECRET
and was never to leave the homeworld. These Klingon Scout Class Vessels are used for covert action
and blockade running because of their combination of speed, size. and cloaking technology.
Because of the enormous power drain of the cloaking device, these vessel must decloak to fire weapons.
The Cloaking Device is the result of a trade agreement between the Klingon Empire
and the Romulan Star Empire. It is believed the Klingons traded the construction plans for their
Drell-7 Battle Cruiser for the Cloaking device. There is a self-destruct device located
under the Command Chair on the Bridge of every Klingon vessel, and each commander is under orders
to self-destruct rather than let the Cloaking Device fall into Federation hands.
(Unknown to the Klingons, The U.S.S. Enterprise acquired the plans and an operational Cloaking Device on Stardate 5031.3).
There are 86 Scout Class vessels of this design in the Klingon Military Fleet,
and this is the most popular warship in the Klingon Armada.
